Pubs PEI
Visiting PEI and looking for the best place to sit back, relax and have a few drinks (and snacks)? PEI has a great selection of pubs, some of which we frequent often.
Here are, what we consider, the top 5 Restaurant PEI pubs.

1. Churchill Arms
At Churchill Arms you will find a friendly atmosphere with top notch tasting food. Whether it is a British Curry your after or some home style fish and chips, be prepared for some great food. We eat at the Churchill Arms on a regular basis - their British curries are wonderful and fish and chips are excellent. You do need time because all the food is prepared fresh - this is stated right on the menu. Staff is a great bunch - most have been there for years. It is one of our favorite spots in Charlottetown.

2. Cedars Eatery
In my opinion - home of the best fries in PEI. Fresh cut wedges deep fried until golden brown… can you beat that. One of our VERY favorite places to eat in Charlottetown. Very basic decor but the service is friendly, and the food is consistently excellent. Try the Shish Taouk, very acceptable Hummous and Tabouli and Foul Moudammus that is now my new benchmark for this dish.

3. Merchantman Pub
Located in a historic property near the waterfront, the restaurant’s menu covers a lot of ground: Thai and Cajun cuisine, steaks and seafood. A little quieter than the eateries on Peake’s Wharf, this is the place to go for an intimate, relaxing meal.
You can’t beat the Merchantman for flavor, value, and ambiance. Try the chicken pot pie, three-cheese dip, scallop appetizer and especially the ribs. Yummmy!!! The new menu is exciting and enticing. The Merchant Man is one of those restaurants that delivers consistent quality food and service. I have never been anything but completely satisfied!

4. Gahan House Pub and Eatery
The Gahan House is the only brewpub on Prince Edward Island, and it is truly exceptional. The sampler includes six beers, all of which are ales. Brew master Trent Hays has been hard at work creating these tasty ales, including a stout that I recommend highly. Ask him for a tour of the works, or take a look at them yourself as they are in the basement on the way to the restrooms. The food is imaginative and hearty, be sure to try the fish and chips that come in a brown paper bag. This place is almost reason enough to visit the island.

5. Olde Dublin Pub
Charlottetown’s only authentic Irish pub, The Olde Dublin has been showcasing some of Atlantic Canada’s premiere entertainers over the three decades. A great selection of draught on tap as well as a menu that will be sure to please - The Olde Dublin is your only stop for an evening of Fun, Food and Foot Stompin’ Entertainment.
The food is fantastic whether you want some tasty fish and chips, spaghetti and meatballs or some olde fashion Irish favorites – they have it all. Service is second to none.
